Business Skills for South Africa

Need business skills training?

Are you a small business owner-manager or a business adviser in need of business skills training? BSSA has a wide range of courses covering a variety of relevant topics and skills you need to grow your business. Here’s how to access them.

1. You can apply to be selected for a course (usually a one- or two-day workshop) advertised either in our newsletter or on our website (see Upcoming Courses on the home page). These courses are usually sponsored by a third party, for example the local government. Contact the person indicated in the advertisement.

2. If you need business skills training on course modules which are not part of the training advertised in our newsletter or on our website, you can get a group of learners together and contact BSSA to discuss whether we can assist your group. BSSA’s training methodology works best with 15 to 25 learners.

Core training for owner-managers:

The cost of training for your group is R600 per person per day if the training takes place in Pretoria. This includes the training fee, training materials and refreshments. If you require the training to take place elsewhere, our trainers' travel and accommodation costs will need to be added.

PROCESS training for business advisers:

The PROCESS course has seven modules, each offered over five days. Not all modules need to be taken consecutively.

The cost is R3 500 per person per five-day module if the training takes place in Pretoria. The fee covers tuition, manuals, certificates and refreshments. If you require training to take place elsewhere, our trainers' travel and accommodation costs will need to be added.

All learners are responsible for their own transport and accommodation, regardless of where the training takes place. Terms and conditions apply.

Please note that training can only take place if all learners in the group have submitted proof of payment of the course fee to BSSA.

3. A third option is for you to find someone to sponsor the training, for example a company in your area wishing to spend CSI funds or obtain Enterprise Development (BEE scorecard) points.
