Who's who at BSSA: meet our people

Raj DhanlallRaj Dhanlall is Chairman of the Board of BSSA. Raj is a partner in PwC. He is a chartered accountant, a Fellow of the Institute of Internal Auditors of South Africa and a certified fraud examiner.

In his spare time, Raj is a DJ on a community radio station, and is a keen power walker, having participated in several ultra-marathons as a walker. He also has a keen interest in promoting the Hindi language and culture.

PwC wins Forging Enterprise 2015 award

PwC and the National Industrial Chamber (NIC) walked away with a small business promotion pioneer award at the recent Forging Enterprise National Small Business Conference 2015 held in Cape Town. NIC and PwC, which has been supporting BSSA financially since its inception in 1994, won the award in the category Business Skills Training.

Forging Enterprise 2015

In 1995, former President Nelson Mandela hosted his first President’s Conference on Small Business. In 2015, Forging Enterprise will mark 20 years of small business promotion in South Africa by hosting a celebratory event in Cape Town from 26 to 28 May.

2014 another successful year for BSSA

2014 was yet another successful year for BSSA - a total of 1 600 SMME participants attended business skills training offered by the Foundation. The past year also saw further activity in ongoing annual programmes, as well as new initiatives and partnerships.

Who's who at BSSA: meet our people

Joe MoloiJoe Moloi has been with BSSA since 1996, and is responsible for the training materials and stationery used during training. He was born and grew up in Soweto, and after working part-time for PwC for a few years, he joined BSSA where he has been an integral part of the growth of the Foundation over the past 18 years. Joe used to play soccer during his spare time, and is still an ardent Pirates fan.

BSSA trains suppliers to Petra Diamonds

BSSA has provided business skills training to more than 130 potential suppliers of goods and services to Petra Diamonds at the company’s mines in Cullinan, Kimberley, Finsch (Kuruman) and Koffiefontein.
